HOME COOKING: GRILLED SHRIMPS WITH MUSHROOMS SAUCE AND STEAMMED VEGGIES

So Spring it's here believe it or not. It's time to start cooking light and quick meals and today I have a delicious dish that can be prepared in about half hour or less. The mushrooms sauce it's super easy to make, got the recipe this past weekend from my younger bother who by the way loves to cook as well, I think it's in the family. He made it with just the melted butter, I added the garlic to make it more flavorful. Either way, it's very good to add to any kind of grilled meat, poultry or fish. Just be aware that if you add salt to the meat, use unsalted butter for the sauce. I learned that the hard way. Gather your apron and pans and lets get cooking!

Ingredients: Serves two

1/2 Lb of shrimps
6 Mini Bella Mushrooms cut in small pieces
One cup of Broccoli florets
6-10 Asparagus spears cut in half
Salt and pepper to taste
Half a butter stick
2 large garlic cloves
Cooking spray or Olive oil

Preparation:

Season the shrimps with pepper and a bit a salt (if you use regular salted butter skip the salt of the shrimps)
Heat up a stove top grill pan and spray with oil. Place the shrimps for about one minute on each side.
Meanwhile, place the butter and garlic on a pan until butter is melted and then add the mushrooms.
Stir and add 1/3 of water to dissolve the butter just a little bit and cook for three minutes.
I used a small microwave steamer for the vegetables for about two minutes. And Voila'!
Enjoy with a glass of red or white wine.
